Biography:
Dr. Joy Harris is an engineer and innovation leader with experience spanning academia and industry. She began her career conducting applied research at the American Competitiveness Institute, where she focused on electronics manufacturing and reliability for the US Navy. Then she served as a technical consultant at Exponent Engineering and Scientific Consulting, providing failure analysis and materials expertise to clients across multiple sectors. Next, she moved into a role as a senior packaging engineer at Intel, where she advanced semiconductor packaging technologies. Now in academia, Dr. Harris has held faculty and leadership roles at Georgia Tech and Georgia State University, directing programs that integrate innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship education. She earned her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business.
