Biography: 

Jackie M. Peer is the director of industry outreach at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL), where she leads strategic engagement initiatives across the power and energy sectors. She earned her BS in electrical engineering from Washington State University.
Jackie has over two decades of leadership experience at SEL, where she held key roles in R&D, sales, marketing, and SEL University and led the Modern Solutions Power Systems Conference—an executive-focused industry event.
Prior to rejoining SEL, she served as head of strategic business development for North America at OMICRON electronics. Her 30-year career also includes roles with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Consolidated Electrical Distributors, and Clearwater Paper.
Jackie has served on the Northwest Public Power Association (NWPPA) Board of Trustees and the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Governing Board as vice president of conferences and meetings. She continues to contribute to the industry through numerous board and advisory roles.
In 2014, Jackie was honored with The Manufacturing Institute’s STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Production) Award, recognizing her achievements in manufacturing and her commitment to mentoring and elevating women in the field.
A passionate advocate for youth, gender diversity, and inclusion in the workplace, Jackie is dedicated to creating opportunities and advancing equity in engineering and leadership.
